Vaughan-Williams Epic and Beloved

DONA NOBIS PACEM

and Gabriel Ruiz-Bernal's Beautiful

MAGNIFICAT

Vaughan-Williams composed Dona Nobis Pacem as a plea for peace as he saw Europe sliding toward WW II even after the devastation of WW I - which he personally experienced. Choosing  the poetry of Walt Whitman based on  Whitman's experience in the Civil War, he created a true testament to peace.

When Camerata performed the Ruiz-Bernal Magnificat several years ago it was  an audience, favorite so we have brought it back for an encore performance.
